Diane Coles — Instructor / Trainer

Diane and German Shepherd Emma


Diane started training obedience in the mid 80's and then went on to raise German Shepherds for pet and Police K9. Since then Diane has owned and trained many dogs and taught individual and group obedience classes over the past 15 years. She has traveled to many seminars expanding her training techniques with world renowned trainers. She has worked with and rehabilitated many aggressive dogs to become great companion dogs for their families.

About 9 yrs ago Diane rescued a Golden Retriever puppy and began training the golden puppy for AKC competition obedience. The puppy went on to earn her CGC, Therapy Dog, Companion Dog/Companion Dog Excellent, Rally Novice, Rally Advanced, and Rally Excellent titles all with many 1st place finishes.

Diane served as Chief of Police in Michigan for 15 yrs and was also a police K9 handler/trainer with her German Shepherd Emma. Emma earned her National Certification in Narcotics Detection just over 12 months old. Emma tracks and also competes in obedience trials. Emma has many 1st place awards earning Companion Dog/Companion Dog Excellent, Rally Novice, Advanced and Excellent titles. Emma’s suspect tracking skills have lead to multiple apprehensions of fugitives attempting to elude the police while on active duty in Michigan.

Diane and Emma retired from police work in July 2012 and have since become part of the growing team at Dog World Sarasota to train dogs, teach private and group classes as well as rehabilitate dogs with fear or aggression problems.



James Allen Parker — Instructor / Trainer

James Allen Parker has served the civilian and law enforcement community tirelessly over his vast career. Besides working as an inner agency police K-9 unit training specialist, he has hosted numerous law enforcement seminars, instructed numerous police departments, military and special forces units, served as K-9 Perfections Northern training director and is currently the national training director for World Class Canine.

James Allen Parker k9 Cop James Allen Parker also serves the entire military and police community as K9 Cop Magazine's bite-work columnist. James has trained hundreds of military, law enforcement and personal protection dogs and is in constant demand around the country. James will be working with both decoys and Law Enforcement K9 handlers to increase the effectiveness and interaction between both.

Michael Breton — Instructor / Trainer

Michael Breton dog trainer


Michael is a graduate of The Tom Rose School of Professional Dog Trainer course. No other school requires successful performance of AKC, VDH, and NNDDA training degrees for certification. He began training dogs in 1976 and has trained dogs for obedience, agility, tracking, narcotics, tricks and personal protection. One of his dogs, "Starski", a Doberman Pincher, was able to perform over a hundred tricks. Michael is working his current dogs for agility, ring sport, search & rescue, service work, narcotics and bomb detection. His specialty is rehabilitating dogs with aggression problems or extreme behaviors. Michael specializes in operant conditioning, motivational and drive training. He has trained everything from a Chihuahua to a Timber Wolf.

Michael developed and delivered seminars and training to law enforcement on detector dog training, patrol dog training, tracking, and contraband interdiction. He taught pet care, obedience, agility and protection classes. Trained decoys for personal protection classes and handled K9s for private detection company.

    Training references include:
  • Training the first Waterfowl, Anti-Poaching K9 for the Federal Fish and Wildlife Service K9 Unit.
  • Trained and certified K9s and handlers for Davis County Sheriff Departmen.t
  • Trained and certified K9s and handlers for private security companies in Northwest.
  • Training deployment teams at Fort Bragg - Special Operations Forces including US Army Airborne Rangers.
